Musiqli was a digital matchmaking platform for the music industry, designed to help bands, orchestras, choirs and other musical groups connect with the right people in an industry where the best connections are usually made by personal introduction. Built on API-based software architecture, it offered search and filtering based on mutual relevance scoring, drawing on research into the criteria that drive successful collaboration in music.

The project grew out of a partnership formed at the University of Cambridge's start-up accelerator, Accelerate Cambridge, in 2014. Concanenda Ltd had joined the programme with the aim of helping listeners find classical music in a natural, progressive way, through a series of advanced, informed playlists built using human-centred design. Concanenda partnered with Solviq, who had joined the same programme as technical partner to build a digital matchmaking platform for musicians. Musiqli was born at the intersection of these two projects, broadening its scope to embrace orchestras, choirs and other musical groups alongside bands.

Musiqli was founded by Alexandra, Steve and Carwyn, brought together by their mutual passion for music and technology. Steve and Carwyn had been working on engineering and software projects in finance, healthcare and defence, and, as a keyboardist and guitarist respectively, wanted to turn their technical talents towards music. Alexandra had just completed a degree in Choral Studies at Cambridge and was researching ways to improve accessibility to classical music through the application of technology. It was clear upon meeting that their goals were aligned, and so Musiqli was born.

After many pivots and redesigns, the team decided to bring the Musiqli project to a close in October 2015.
