It's those things that you never expect, that end making you whole. When I felt I was stumbling on my journey, Muay Thai gave me the confidence to continue swimming forward. Suddenly everything came into sharp focus, the world around me slowed and I suddenly felt calm, confident, and unafraid. Sabai, Sabai.
I found home in a place that was unlike anything I had experienced, with people who I could only communicate with in gesture. As it turned out, it was all we needed. But more importantly, it was all I had needed full stop.
Since then I’ve started smiling more, laughing from deep inside, it pouring out of me in deep howls. I breathe more, sleep better, and am able to let go of the things I can’t change. Who knows where this journey will take me but for now I’m just enjoying every micro step in it. The training, the people, the laughter, the adrenaline. Coming into my own, I feel whole. And for now, that’s enough.
